Rigatoni is a very popular type of pasta in the south of Italy.  Rigatoni are large, ridged and sometimes slightly curved tubes of pasta with square ends (unlike diagonally cut Penne). A great small pasta for catching sauce, Rigatoni are often served with tomato and meat sauces.  Roman Rigatoni are ideal when full or heavy sauces are on the menu.
